Sunno))) will continue its run of performing collaboration albums versus releasing anything strictly under its own name. Label Southern Lord announced today that the drone metal/experimental rockers would team up with Scott Walker for Soused, an album due to be released on September 23 in the United States.

The road leading up to the album was apparently a convoluted one. Sunno))) is not exactly the most open of bands, but Walker really takes the cake. After a string of poor sales during the '60s with his pop group The Walker Brothers, the performer turned himself into an avant-garde vocalist. The Seattle band approached him with the intention for him to appear on their 2009 album Monoliths & Dimensions, an opportunity that Walker at first turned down. The vocalist then came back with his own material for collaboration...four years later. Who were they to say no?

The album-although we have no idea what it will sound like because of Sunno)))'s range of styles and colors-continues a trend of teaming up that the band has been partaking in for a while. It will be the second dropped by the group during 2014, as its Terrestrials, performed with Norwegian experimenters Ulver, was released during February. Monoliths was the last solo album from the band, but they've also teamed up with Nurse With Wound since then. Walker last released an album with 2012's Bish Bosch

What we DO know is that it will be a few long songs (five totaling 50 minutes), which is pretty in line with a typical Sunno))) release.
