Ryan Adams is in Denver this week to play at the historic Red Rocks Amphitheatre, and the singer-songwriter participated in activities to promote the event.

A day before his headlining set, he surprised everyone by presenting the weather news for Denver7 on Wednesday, June 13.

Ryan Adams Fulfills Dreams Of Becoming A Weatherman

Adams' new television gig came about after Shannon Ogden, an anchor for Denver7, reached out to him through Twitter. The Grammy-nominated musician responded to the invitation by saying that he has a "smooth rap song" for Denver7 and Ogden.

Denver Channel, Ogden, and Adams have been teasing the special weather forecast all week, and it finally happened on Wednesday night. During the 5 p.m. broadcast of the local news, the "Oh My Sweet Carolina" singer appeared on television wearing a classic yellow Batman shirt under a red plaid long-sleeves and dark-tinted sunglasses — not exactly the same formal clothes worn by professional anchors, but he looked comfortable inside the studio.

When it was time for the weather forecast, Ogden introduced the newscast's meteorologist for the night. Adams read out the projected weather for the rest of the week.

Ryan Adams' Love Song For Denver7

As promised, Adams also penned a song for Ogden and Denver7 in exchange for his new gig as a temporary meteorologist. During the Wednesday night newscast, he debuted "Denver7 (Piece Of Heaven)."

The show even put together an animated music video for the incredibly cheesy but epic smooth rap.

"It's like heaven watching Channel7," he croons. "Can you let me do the weather one time? I'll wear my Batman shirt. I'll wear my flannel."

A couple of weeks ago, the 43-year-old singer-songwriter also dropped a song called "105.5 The Colorado Sound," a tribute to the adult album alternative radio station in Denver.

While "Denver7 (Piece of Heaven)" was a smooth rap song, "105.5 The Colorado Sound" is a head-banger. He even namechecked DJs in the lyrics.

The song can be streamed on the website of Colorado Sound.

Adams is set to perform at the Red Rocks Amphitheatre on Thursday, June 14, with First Aid Kit.
