Gallant is going to do a cover of Kwon BoA's "Only One" in celebration of the J-pop/K-pop star's twentieth anniversary.

SM Entertainment will release a special album called "Our Beloved BoA" and will feature other Korean acts, such as Red Velvet, Bolbbalgan4, Baekhyun, and many others.

Among them, Gallant is the only artist in the project that is not Korean-based.

SM Entertainment also released photos of Gallant to promote the upcoming BoA cover. The photos are of Gallant with a magenta-peach gradient background. He is seen wearing a sleek black long sleeve.

This is not the first time that Gallant has shown interest in K-pop. Back in 2018, he made a cover of powerhouse boy group BTS's song "Singularity" and shared it via his Twitter account. However, he did not cover the whole song and it was only 15 seconds long.

The Maryland-based songwriter collaborated with Tablo and Eric Nam. The three artists worked on the track called "Cave Me In" and also appeared in the song's music video. They also did some live performances for the song.

Speaking of performances, Gallant performed with SBS K-pop Star Lee Hi. The latter was filling in for Jhene Aiko, who was not able to make the show during that time.

BoA's "Only One" is a sentimental ballad with prominent piano, violins, and popping beats that one can dance to. It would be interesting to hear what Gallant will make of this cover.

SMTOWN uploaded two videos of the same song in 2012. The 'Dance version' shows BoA dancing on the street with a group of talented backup dancers. The "Drama version" features BoA meeting a romantic partner in a café. It appears the guy is not interested but she knows. It ends with her accepting their fate and her letting the guy go.

As for BoA herself, she was a featured coach in the third season of the singing competition "The Voice of Korea" last May 2020.
