"Lamb of God" marked the band's first recordings with Art Cruz, who had joined the band in 2019 to replace the group's founding drummer, Chris Adler.

The album debuted and peaked at No. 2 in the Billboard Top Rock Albums chart and No. 15 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart. It has also reached the Top 16 of the Official Charts Company Top 100 Albums Chart.

Both albums reached commercial success, with "Sacrament" reaching No. 6 on the Billboard 200 chart and a Grammy nomination for Best Metal Performance for their single "Redneck."

On the other hand, their 2008 "Wrath," peaked No. 2 in the same album chart, making it the band's most successful album on the chart to date.

In an interview with Media Mikes two years ago, Lamb of God bassist John Campbell hinted and discussed the possibility of working with Wilbur again in future projects.

Campbell mentioned that Wilbur is "incredibly creative" and has been "great with suggestions" and helping the band along the process.

"He understands the band and all of our personalities very well and that's a godsend," he continued. Good news for the heavy metal band's fans, Lamb of God will also headline the star-studded Aftershock festival on October 6 - 9, 2022.
