The long-awaited Juneteenth Concert is almost there, and fans who cannot go to Hollywood Bowl can still have the chance to watch it!

With its jampacked line-up, this year's Juneteenth Celebration might be the biggest one so far, especially with the larger crowd that is expected to come.

Titled "Juneteenth: A Global Celebration of Freedom," fans can watch this year's celebration thru CNN platforms on June 19, 2022, as the entire concert will be live-streamed.

The Roots will also be performing at the concert, as Debbie Allen's Dance Academy will be present.

One of the main acts of the celebration is the 68-piece symphony Re-Collective Orchestra. This is historic for the venue, as the Thomas Wilkins and Derek Hodge-conducted orchestra will be the first all-black orchestra to ever play in the Hollywood Bowl's 100-year history.

Juneteenth Concert 2022 Relevance To History

This upcoming Juneteenth Concert is the second year that it is considered a federal holiday. Congress has only ratified its status prior to last year's celebration.

Stemming from a rich history to 1865, the celebration is dubbed the 57th annual Black Independence Day. The holiday celebrates the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans specifically and has become a celebration of Black culture generally.

"I'm thrilled that CNN is broadcasting this historic event for our viewers across the globe to celebrate and understand the significance of Juneteenth," CNN CEO Chris Licht said. (via Variety)

For Live Nation Urban President Shawn Gee, this Juneteenth Concert 2022 will be the "most important" event that they have ever produced.
