Lil Tjay, fortunately, survived the alarming shooting incident, but rapper Bobby Shmurda still offered a warning to young artists following the event.

After a long wait, Lil Tjay's fans received a positive update about the rapper's condition following the attempted armed robbery. It was confirmed that the rapper woke up and started speaking on his own after the removal of his breathing tube.

Amid his recovery, rapper Bobby Shmurda said that Lil Tjay's experience should be a "teachable moment" for other aspiring rappers who want to join the industry soon.

In an exclusive video shared by a news outlet, the "Getting Em Back" rapper wished Lil Tjay well. In addition, he noted how Lil Tjay and other rappers would never have normal existences because they grew in "trenches."

It means that the recently-shot rapper and other hip-hop artists went through - and will still go through - difficulties in their respective careers.

Shmurda himself could feel what Lil Tjay did when he got involved in such a dangerous situation. With that, he reminded everyone, especially young rappers, to focus on positivity as they would never know who they would run into in public.

Rappers Got the Hardest Job

Shmurda's comment came after French Montana also spoke about the incident his frequent collaborator faced.

He and Lil Tjay famously worked on some songs, including "Bag Season" and "Slide."

Per French Montana, rappers got the hardest jobs since they all have targets on their backs, and they do not know who might harm them.

"It's hard out here for rappers, man. We got the hardest job. You don't know where it comes from, man. We think that everybody love us but everybody don't love us," he said, as quoted by HipHop DX.

Their comments shed light on the alarming number of rappers who became victims of gun violence. Before Lil Tjay, several rappers already died following shooting incidents, including Nipsey Hussle, Pop Smoke, XXXTENTACION, Trouble, Young Dolph, King Von, and Slim 400, among others.

In a related incident, Drakeo The Ruler was stabbed and eventually died during a festival in Los Angeles last year.

The man who shot Lil Tjay, 27-year-old Mohamed Konate, allegedly attempted to rob him, Jeffrey Valdez, and Antoine Void. The suspect was arrested on three counts of attempted murder, three counts of armed robbery, and other weapons charges.
