Elvis Presley's dead body almost got stolen before the family of the King of Rock and Roll was able to bring him to his resting place.

On Aug. 16, 1977, Presley unexpectedly died at his Graceland home at the age of 42. His fans then marked his 45th death anniversary this year, with some of them revealing shocking events that happened during the funeral.

On Elvis Fans Matter's YouTube Channel, a new video featuring Billy and Jo Smith revealed details about the rocker and how his body almost got stolen from his family.

Jo said that they felt strange during the funeral as they saw the windows make a shadow of a perfect cross. Everyone stayed in the chapel for four or five days, but they decided to move it due to an incident.

"There was an attempt, believe it or not, to steal Elvis' body and from that point on Uncle Vernon, he didn't know what to do. So he called the city and asked them if he could move it to Graceland, that way he could have security 24/7. They agreed to it and also agreed to allow his Mama to be moved there and, of course, Grandma and all of them are buried there now too," Billy, Presley's cousin and last surviving original Memphis Mafia member, said.

Fortunately, the attempt was unsuccessful, allowing his family to bury him in the Forest Hill Cemetery with his mother, Gladys, who died in 1958. Their caskets were eventually moved to the Meditation Garden at Graceland.

Was Elvis Presley's Casket Heavy?

One of the noisiest buzz after Presley's death was about his "heavy" casket.

Billy sat for a separate interview on the Memphis Mafia Kid YouTube channel and answered why the singer's casket was so heavy. He joked that Presley copied King Tut and divluged that his casket was lined with gold.

"Now that is something that you won't believe. So he decided to have his whole casket lined in gold, to outdo Tut and it weighed a ton," he quipped.

He then answered the question seriously, dismissing the claims that it was heavy. Presley's cousin said they did not know where people got the idea, so he assured everyone that the casket was far from what the rumors suggested.

Instead of Presley, Michael Jackson's casket was actually the one lined in gold.
