The King of Pop was practically the embodiment of dreams already but if Micheal Jackson was able to have this dream of his come true, then the world would have been in for a treat.
Neil Gaiman was recently a guest on Josh Horowitz's "Happy Sad Confused" podcast, where he disclosed that Michael Jackson wanted to feature in a 1990s television adaptation of Tthe Sandman" comic book series.
"By 1996, I was being taken to Warners, where the then-president of Warner Bros sat me down and told me that Michael Jackson had phoned him the day before and asked him if he could star as Morpheus in The Sandman," Gaiman recalled to Horowitz.
He aded, "So, there was a lot of interest in this, and they knew that it was one of the Crown Jewels and what did I think? And I was like, 'Ooh.'"
Gaiman has gotten numerous approaches to adapt his series for television over the past three decades. This year, Netflix released the first season of The Sandman, which topped the global streaming service's charts for three consecutive weeks. Tom Sturridge now portrays Morpheus in the 2022 version. The Netflix series also features Gwendoline Christie, Jenna Coleman, Boyd Holbrook, Mason Alexander Park, and Kirby Howell-Baptiste.

The series has not been renewed for a second season as of yet. While Jackson never had the opportunity to play Morpheus, he was no stranger to the acting profession. Before his death in 2009, the "Billy Jean" vocalist performed in the 1978 film The Wiz as the Scarecrow, as well as Moonwalker and Men in Black II.
On what would have been his 64th birthday, Michael Jackson's children paid tribute to their father. Paris and Prince Jackson, the two eldest children of the singer, posted childhood images with their famous father to their Instagram profiles on August 29.
In 2009, at the age of 50, the Grammy winner died in his Los Angeles home from an overdose of the sedative propofol, which had been prescribed by his physician. The passing of the Thriller artist prompted a global outpouring of sadness and grief.
Meanwhile, the estate of Michael Jackson has just secured a major judicial victory, stopping the sale of MJ property that the estate claims was stolen from the singer's house immediately after his death.
A judge imposed a preliminary injunction prohibiting Jeffre Phillips from selling any things he allegedly removed from the property in 2009. Michael's estate alleges Phillips was engaged to one of Michael's siblings and utilized the stress and tragedy surrounding Michael's death to steal a large quantity of personal and private goods from MJ's Carolwood House.
