This is it! The final numbers are in, and Taylor Swift just made the biggest opening week debut of her entire music career so far.

After mid-week projections and week-long anticipation, "Midnights," Taylor Swift's 11th studio album, debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 charts, setting the record for the whole 2020 decade.

According to Billboard, "Midnights" earned 1.578 million album-equivalent units on its opening week sales, one of the biggest in by far seven years. The last album to have debuted at this magnitude was in 2015, when Adele's "25" shocked everyone with 3.482 million album units in its first week.

Specifically, Luminate numbers illustrate that among the 1.578 million units that "Midnights" has generated, album sales make up a large chunk of it. 1.140 million pure album sales were recorded on Swift's opening week, along with 419,000 stream-equivalent units, and 19,000 track-equivalent units.

With the massive numbers, Swift has set some pretty huge records that might be difficult for others, including herself, to beat.

No. 1 Album

This makes Swift's 11th studio album debut at the top of the Billboard 200 charts. Swift is now tied with music icon Barbra Streisand as the artist with the most albums on No. 1 in their career and both placed fifth among all artists in history. They are tied with Drake and Bruce Springsteen who also have 11, trailing behind Jay-Z with 14, and The Beatles with 19.

Personal Record

"Midnights" is the biggest album since Swift's own "reputation" in 2017. This now puts Swift's discography a big boost as five out of her eleven No. 1 albums opened to more than 1 million album equivalent units. "Midnights" is the biggest, followed by "1989," "reputation," "Red," and "Speak Now."

Album Sales

Essentially, "Midnights" is the top-selling album of 2022 with 1.140 million pure album sales alone, eclipsing Harry Styles' "Harry's House" with a cumulative 604,000 album sales. Meanwhile, Bad Bunny's "Un Verano Sin Ti" remains 2022's best-selling album as it already has around 2.911 million album-equivalent units.

Vinyl Sale

Maybe it's the different versions and unique Vinyl jackets but, Swift has always been a Vinyl best-seller. Billboard has tallied the biggest opening week for Vinyl ever since it started recording in 1991 with "Midnights," setting the New Modern-Era Vinyl Sales Record with 575,000 sales.

Streaming

With 419,000 streaming equivalent units, Taylor now holds the record of the third biggest streaming week for an artist in the modern-day streaming era. Her SEA equals 549.26 million on-demand official streams of the set's 20 total tracks, it trails behind Drake's "Certified Lover Boy" with 743.67 million, and Scorpion with 745.92 million.
