Born Beatrice Kristi Laus, the singer is popularly known by her stage name Beabadoobee (pronounced as bee-buh-doo-bee). She was born in Iloilo City, Philippines, before moving to the United Kingdom at the age of 3.

According to AllMusic, the indie-rock artist spent most of her life in West London and one of her first memories with music was listening to the OPM genre (original Pinoy music). She was also heavily influenced by 80s pop and rock music.

Beabadoobee was trained to play the violin for seven years, but she leaned more into using a guitar which she learned to play by watching YouTube tutorials.

In 2017, the British-Filipino indie artist wrote her first song ever using her guitar titled "Coffee." She dropped the track on her YouTube channel which gained over 300,000 views, leading her to amass a fanbase as well as grabbing the attention of Dirty Hit Records.

The record label, which focuses on independent artists, is popularly known for its signed music acts like The 1975, Rina Sawayama, No Rome, and many more.

She released her first EP titled "Lice" before signing with Dirty Hit in April 2018. Her following project "Patched Up" dropped a few months later.

Years later, she dropped her first album "Fake It Flowers" and the other one earlier this year titled "Beatopia."

Star-studded artists like Harry Styles, Matty Healy, Taylor Swit, and more have expressed their admiration for the rising artist.
