Christine McVie was not one of Fleetwood Mac's original members.

In reality, she joined after meeting the band's members, who included her now-ex-husband, John McVie, and drummer Mick Fleetwood.

When their co-founder Peter Green departed the band, the two guys reportedly urged her to join at the last minute.

She agreed, but it's possible she didn't because of her first impressions of others. In fact, she was terrified of THIS guy when she first met him.

Christine McVie Before Joining Fleetwood Mac

Christine McVie's father used to be a concert violinist. As a result, she grew up playing classical piano.

When her brother started introducing her to American music, she drifted away from classical music and spent her undergraduate years playing in a band.

After graduating high school, Christine began to pursue music seriously, and a friend asked if she wanted to play the piano for their band, Chicken Shack.

Christine said at the time that she was "bored," "not doing much of anything," and "not making any money at all," so she promptly agreed.

THIS Person Intimidated Christine McVie

Chicken Shack achieved minor success before beginning to support Fleetwood Mac.

John McVie, Jeremy Spencer, Peter Green, and Fleetwood Mac were members of the blues band. Christine became an immediate admirer of the band.

She described these individuals as having "tremendous magnetism," particularly Peter Green.

Jeremy Spencer was also characterized by Christine as "an outrageous tiny man onstage."

She met and made friends with every member of the band.

Christine McVie described these individuals as funny chaps in the book "Fleetwood Mac on Fleetwood Mac," per the Rolling Stone.

"Really great and funny guys. Peter Green was a cocky bugger and disarmingly charming. He was the one that really attracted me first. Jeremy Spencer was vulgar and rude but funny."

However, it took her longer to warm up to Mick Fleetwood because of his appearance.

She explained, "Mick Fleetwood - I was terrified of, so tall and thin and imposing," she said.

"He gave the impression of being quite haughty but he's just a puppy really, and I liked John."

Despite the first impression, Christine McVie went on to join the band in the 70s and left in 1998, after 30 years of being part of Fleetwood Mac.
