Unfortunately, two beautiful souls of the music industry left us last week. As we embark on a new week, we hope to not report such sad deaths again.

David Crosby

David Crosby was a formidable force in the music industry, with a career that spanned decades and a multitude of honors and accolades to his credit. Fans and other musicians, including Carole King, Melissa Etheridge, Stephen Stills, and others, were grieved by the news of his untimely passing a few days ago.

Neil Young and Stephen Stills, two of his closest friends and bandmates, were perhaps the most affected by his passing.

Crosby's sperm donation to Etheridge and her ex-partner Julie Cypher resulted in the birth of their son Beckett.

Marshall Tucker

Meanwhile, Marshall Tucker, a blind piano tuner from South Carolina who named The Marshall Tucker Band, has passed away. He was 99. Through linked posts, The Marshall Tucker Band's official social media accounts, including Twitter and Facebook, confirmed the musician's passing. It was confirmed that Tucker passed away on January 20 in the morning. The message indicated that the blind piano tuner was responsible for the band's new moniker.

The Marshall Tucker Band recalled that Tucker's eyesight did not prohibit him from playing the piano in South Carolina in the decades preceding his death. The band also took the opportunity to convey condolences and meaningful notes to his sad family.

Following the announcement, the band's fans and Tucker's supporters shared their heartbreaks through internet posts. In addition, they praised his contributions to the music industry and his efforts to make the band internationally renowned.
