Michael Bublé revealed how his son's cancer diagnosis changed him and his life in a big way.
Bublé and his family shared devastating news about his then-3-year-old son, Noah, in 2016. At that time, the singer revealed on Facebook that his eldest son was diagnosed with a rare form of liver cancer, hepatoblastoma.
Noah underwent treatment and procedures to stop cancer from getting worse or spreading. He finally started his recovery a year later and eventually went into remission.
In a new interview with Red magazine, the 47-year-old "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas" hitmaker said the news changed him in a big way.
"That, of course, changed me in a big way - it changed what mattered to me, it changed how I saw life," he said. "For most of my life as an entertainer and, especially on stage, I'd become my alter ego". "I'd become the superhero I always wanted to be."
But when they found out about Noah's condition, he and his wife reportedly went through the "unthinkable thing." He also lost the alter ego he had been making.
To focus on his child's recovery, Bublé took a step back from the spotlight and canceled his work. At that time, he said his family was broken in half.
The experience was heartbreaking enough for him to quit music indefinitely.
Noah's cancer diagnosis also made the couple realize their fulfillment and understanding are important. For instance, he will not be touring while his wife films a movie. She will then take a break and allow him to do his thing.

In 2016, Daily Mail cited the Argentinian website, La Nación, which reported that Noah was diagnosed after the initial suspicion of mumps.
After visiting a doctor, they found out his cancer diagnosis. Bublé and his wife supported their son throughout his treatment in the US, and nearly 100,000 people sent the family well wishes and prayers.

According to the National Cancer Institute, hepatoblastoma is the most common type of childhood liver cancer. Among the signs and symptoms include a lump in the abdomen that may be painful, weight loss, nausea, swelling in the abdomen, and loss of appetite.
Before his cancer diagnosis, Noah already appeared in the news in 2015 following his hospitalization after he was accidentally scalded with hot water.
