Lizzo gave Beyoncé the biggest shoutout when she delivered her acceptance speech after winning the 2023 Record of the Year at the Grammys.

The 2023 GRAMMY Awards officially recognized musicians and their music during the weekend ceremony. Among the recipients, Lizzo made headlines after she outshined everyone in the Record of the Year category.

Her "About Damn Time" competed with other biggest records of the year: ABBA's "Don't Shut Me Down," Adele's "Easy on Me," Beyoncé's "BREAK MY SOUL," Mary J. Blige's "Good Morning Gorgeous," Brandi Carlile featuring Lucius' "You and Me on the Rock," Doja Cat's "Woman," Steve Lacy's "Bad Habit," Kendrick Lamar's "The Heart Part 5," and Harry Styles' "As It Was."

Clips taken from the ceremony record Lizzo trying to spot Beyoncé as host Trevor Noah gave his opening monologue and told the crowd they got the "Run The World" hitmaker in the room. Lizzo's excitement to see the singer extended when she delivered the last part of her 2023 Grammy Awards speech after she won the Record of the Year award.

She recalled skipping school when she was in fifth grade just to see her perform live.

"Where you at, Beyonce?? My eyes are wet. You changed my life," Lizzo said. "You sang that gospel medley and the way you made me feel, I was like I want to make people feel this way with my music. So thank you so much! You clearly are the artist of our lives. I love you."

She also mentioned Prince, who died in 2016. Lizzo said she started dedicating her life to making positive music after his death.
