Nickelback recently performed at a concert last week and fans were worried after frontman Chad Kroeger suffered an on-stage medical emergency, which led him to pause briefly; what happened?

According to People Magazine, the group played a gig at the Hollywood Casino Amphitheatre in Maryland Heights, Missouri.

At one point, the musician took a short pause while playing the song "Animals" and he told the crowd that he wasn't feeling well.

"I can't do this," he said as his bandmates stopped playing the instrumental background music.

"I cannot sit here with a f****** absolutely destroyed throat and try to make it through this show and pretend like there's nothing f******* wrong and take your f******* money, 'cause that is wrong," the 48-year-old musician added.

As seen on videos circulating online, countless fans attended the show and most of them expressed a confused reaction, but they still cheered throughout the set.

Nickelback Continues Show Despite Chad Kroeger's Throat Problems

Later on, Kroeger explained that he was having a hard time hitting notes and the doctor jabbed him in the hip with "prednisone." Following this, he and his bandmates hope that the medication he received would work.

As fans wait for him to continue his performance, the singer said he couldn't stand there and sing the band's biggest hits and have his voice crack because it's driving him "nuts."

"I'll tell you what. I could give it my best. I could keep just trying, and we could just blow the f***** out if you want to," he said.

Despite his throat issues, the show must go on as Kroeger decided to start all over again and he gave his all through the night.

According to Setlist.fm, Nickelback was able to play most of their songs, but they skipped the track "Burn It to the Ground" which might be due to his throat problems.
