Karol G went through a devastating breakup with her ex-fiance Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA; it was what inspired her to make her chart-topping hit album "Mañana Será Bonito" in the first place.

And while she is now relishing every moment of the album's success and its accompanying stadium tour, what she went through making and releasing the album is just as heartbreaking as the actual breakup.

"The two weeks before the album came out, I couldn't sleep, I couldn't eat," Karol G admitted to Rolling Stone. "Being so exposed in my music was very psychologically heavy.... Imagine something like this happening, and you have to tell millions of people what happened to you."

However, that was exactly what the Latina singer needed to do for her to get her much-deserved breakthrough in music.

The album, which translates to "Tomorrow Will be Pretty" in English, was met with much commercial and critical success. It became the first all-Spanish language album by a female artist to top the Billboard 200.

Karol G Reflects on "Mañana Será Bonito"

Elsewhere in her interview, Karol G also talked about the deluxe version of the album, "Mañana Será Bonito (Bichota Season)," which was released last Aug. 11, the same day she began her stadium tour.

"I go over the strange moments, the crazy moments, the difficult ones in my head," the Latina singer said. "The moments where I felt, 'I'm dying and I won't be able to deal with this.' It's what I had to go through to get to today."

She went on to explain how she would always turn to music during times of hardship and heartache.

"We are working for our spaces right now. But we are here. And we now have that respect. People know us [and] know our story," she continued. "I'm super happy just to represent that part, to inspire people if I can. That's the most important thing."
