Erik Grönwall broke his silence following the cancelations of multiple Skid Row tours amid his ongoing health battle.

Skid Row has continuously missed its scheduled shows over the past few months due to Grönwall's health issues after initially canceling tour dates in Australia before its other shows, including the U.S. and Canada stops.

Erik Grönwall Addresses Recent Skid Row Tour's Cancelations

Grönwall spoke candidly about the band's heartbreaking decisions in a new video blog following the postponement of Skid Row's third North American leg of its "The Gang's All Here" tour. It also moved the shows in Huntington, New York and Massachusetts to late September.

According to the singer, he woke up with vocal issues after their performance at the Wellmont Theater in Montclair, New Jersey, on September 8.

"And it sucks, because we're out here, we wanna perform and wanna do what we love, but when you postpone, there's a lot of people that get affected by a decision like that," he said. "There's a lot of people involved in making the show happen, which makes me feel bad."

Still, Grönwall has to prioritize himself and his health especially when he went through the worse in the past. For what it's worth, the musician underwent a bone marrow transplant two years ago, which led him to have a new immune system.

With that, he needs to build up his resistance and strengthen his body again.

Although he tried to tour with Skid Row six months after the transplant, he reportedly realized he needed more time to recover following his chemotherapy and other treatments.

Grönwall was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in March 2021 and was declared cancer-free six months after his bone marrow transplant.

How Cancer Affected Erik Grönwall's Career

In September 2022, Grönwall shared his thoughts in his interview with Australia's "Everblack" podcast regarding his cancer diagnosis' effects on his music career.

"I think I'm just more aware of the here and now, and when I record my vocals, that's the only thing that counts," he continued. "And I'm gonna do everything wholeheartedly - just record it and give it all I've got until I can't do it anymore."

He previously uploaded a YouTube video, titled "Health First!", and shared that his voice and body suddenly felt tired, leading Skid Row to cancel its Australia shows.
