The Las Vegas Sphere is one of the most sensational immersive venues in the world so far. Situated on the Las Vegas strip in Paradise, Las Vegas, the Sphere was minted by the band U2 as part of their Las Vegas Residency.

Since the world saw the artistic and creative possibilities the Sphere can offer, a lot of artist names have been popping up left and right - one of them is Beyoncé.

Beyoncé Performing In Las Vegas Sphere?

According to The New York Post insider sources, James Dolan, the executive chairman of the MSG Network, the same guy who owns the Madison Square Garden and the Sphere, is working tirelessly to have Beyoncé have her Las Vegas Residency next year on the Sphere.

Reportedly, Tina Knowles, Bey's manager and mother, and as well as Jay-Z have taken separate tours on the Las Vegas Sphere to check the venue.

However, Beyoncé allegedly named her price already. Beyoncé's team is asking for $10 million to produce the tech-savvy show, an insider reports. It is actually around the same figure that the Sphere paid U2 to mount its spectacular show and launch the world-class venue.

As of this writing, neither parties have commented on the news.

Beyoncé ended her Renaissance World Tour last October 2023, and there have been no scheduled shows next year. Instead, she'll be releasing "Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé" on Dec. 1, 2023.

The U2, on the other hand, is set to conclude their 36-show Las Vegas Residency in February 2024. Aside from Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Bon Jovi, and Paul McCartney were also being eyed for the spot.

How Does The Las Vegas Sphere Profit?

Ironically, the Las Vegas Sphere doesn't actually make big profits from concert tickets as it only has a 20,000-seat capacity. (via The New York Post)

Instead, profits are generated from their suite sales and advertising efforts. The LED screens that wrap the inside and outside of the arena hit the apple of the eyes of advertisers.

James Dolan told analysts in a call, as quoted by The New York Post: "We're having conversations with artists across a wide variety of genres, including discussing runs of varying lengths. We expect to host two additional residencies in the [first half of 2024] and look forward to sharing more detail

Things aren't faring well for The Sphere as it reportedly lost $98.4 million in the third quarter of 2023, coming from an overbudget of $1 billion.
