Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce's Relationship Fake? Fan Theory Goes Viral

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's relationship has been the subject of a now-viral fan theory, suggesting that their romance is "fake."

Swift officially confirmed her relationship with Kelce when TIME Magazine interviewed her as the 2023 Person of the Year. She disclosed they started dating in the summer, debunking the initial claims they became a couple when she watched a Kansas City Chiefs game for the first time.

What Is the Fan Theory?

On TikTok, a user shared the "money theory" that could reportedly prove Swift and Kelce's relationship is fake.

According to @djcrocs, the "Look What You Made Me Do" singer participated in a product placement to promote Kelce's business ventures, including her attendance at his football games and consuming beverages the tight end has invested his money into.

"Like please you guys be for real it's not like they just keep placing these products directly in front of Taylor in the football box where they know she's going to be shown thousands of times, and there's going to be a bunch of HD pictures of her on the Internet of it - the same products that Travis Kelce just happens to be promoting," the user explained.

Aside from promoting the products, Kelce reportedly took advantage of it by investing his money in them.

Thus, the TikTok user called their relationship a PR stunt to promote businesses.

In addition, the user shared a Cosmopolitan article titled, "Taylor Swift Was Spotted Drinking *This* Travis Kelce-Backed Canned Cocktail at Last Night's Game."

Swifties, on the other hand, have been divided as some also think the same way.

But many others defended the relationship and declared what they have as something genuine.

One said, "Of course his suite is going to have the products that he sponsors...they would be there without Taylor."

"I think it's a difference between getting together for PR/gain in mind and another to be in a true relationship and be smart and capitalize on PR," a second added.

In related news, Swift celebrated her 34th birthday with Kelce and his mom alongside Brittany Mahomes in Kansas City before flying back to New York City to reconnect with her friends, including Selena Gomez.

There were rumors Kelce would propose to her, but no news about it has emerged so far.
