Timothée Chalamet has the chops to outact anyone in a room, but it is quite a revelation that he also had the vocal chops to do so.
Chalamet recently played Willy Wonka in the star-studded production of "Wonka," the prequel to Gene Wilder and Johnny Depp's character in the "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" films.
Timothée Chalamet A Gifted Singer in 'Wonka' Role
Speaking to People Magazine, Eric Vetro, a vocal coach who had worked with the likes of Ariana Grande, Emma Stone, and Ryan Gosling on "La La Land," revealed that although many questioned Chalamet's singing prowess - he delivered.
"The thing about him is that he's very, very naturally musical. He has a lot of music in him," Vetro gushed about the Oscar-nominated actor. "But what's really special about him, he's such a brilliant actor that he brings that side of his talent into the singing. So, he's really singing as a character and bringing those songs alive."
Although Chalamet is widely known for his emotional roles in films like "Lady Bird," "Little Women," "Call Me By Your Name," "Don't Look Up," and "Dune," he also had a hand on local productions like "Cabaret" and "Sweet Charity."
He attended Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York City where the likes of Nicki Minaj, Ansel Elgort, Jennifer Aniston, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and more graduated.
"Someone can sound really good singing. Someone can also act a song really well. But he puts it together really, really well," Vetro furthered. "It almost becomes mesmerizing, because you forget it's Timothée Chalamet, and you just start going along with him as the character. I think that's what people are going to be really, really impressed by."

How Was Timothée Chalamet Cast in 'Wonka'?
Ultimately, it's Chalamet's high school singing videos that got director Paul King to cast him in the iconic film prequel. (via Rolling Stone)
"It was a straight offer because he's great and he was the only person in my mind who could do it," King added. "But because he's Timothée Chalamet and his life is so absurd, his high school musical performances are on YouTube and have hundreds of thousands of views."
According to King, he knew that singing and dancing were well within Chalamet's arsenal - but he was surprised at how good he was.
"When I spoke to him he was quite keen. He'd done tap dancing in high school and he was like, 'I'd quite like to show people I can do that'," he furthered.
