In an interview with Hot New Hip-Hop, Los Angeles rapper Schoolboy Q revealed that he has begun work on his second album, which he expects to be released some time in 2015.
“It’s another journey I’m about to take to finish another album,” Q says, “no telling when I’ll finish it, but my plans is for it to drop it next year. I’m not promoting it right now, I’m still on my Oxymoron wave, but I’m definitely working on my second album.”
When asked about the direction of this new album and how it will sound compared to his debut Oxymoron, Q admits that he’s not sure. “I just started yesterday, so I don’t really know,” he said, “I mean I know what I wanna do, but things change. I knew what I wanted to do with Oxymoron in 2012, but I didn’t drop it ‘til 2014.”
While he works on the album, Q tells his fans not to expect any new songs from him any time soon. “I ain’t about to be dropping no songs soon,” he reveals, before confirming that he “will be on some features” over the next few months.
When asked about Kendrick Lamar’s new album, however, Q has much less to say. “Ahhh man, you know I can’t speak on that,” he says.
