A former tennis star came forward in Taylor Swift's defense after former NFL quarterback Brett Favre accused her of using Travis Kelce for clout.

Although Swift is already one of the most successful musicians in history, she was accused of using her beau and only distracting his team, the Kansas City Chiefs, whenever she attended their game. Favre's comment came after the team's playoff win against the Miami Dolphins on January 13.

"She's obviously using Travis Kelce for publicity. It's a money grab that's not going to end well. Eventually the Chiefs are going to lose and it will be her fault. She's bad for football," the former quarterback allegedly said.

It was later clarified that Favre did not say the statement at all.

Andy Roddick Defends Taylor Swift

Following the controversial remark, former tennis star Andy Roddick blasted Favre to defend Swift and her romance with Kelce.

"Brett Favre talking about money grabs when he was in on a scheme to steal welfare from people in his home state to build a volleyball stadium for his daughters volleyball team," he said, via OK! Magazine.

Roddick referenced Favre's involvement in the infamous 2017 welfare scandal in Mississippi.

Instead of the published statement, Favre - in reality - commented on the Kansas City Chiefs' current status before the Super Bowl. He said it would be a distraction if the team did not make it to the annual league championship game scheduled for February 11.

The rumored comment came after The Sun quoted Fox Sports analyst Skip Bayless' social media post about Swift, reflecting on her effect on the Kansas City Chiefs players' performance during the team's Christmas Day defeat against the Raiders in a 20-14 score.

"Feels like it's about time to call Taylor Swift a distraction," he said. "What do you think, Patrick? Andy? How about you, Travis?"

At that time, Kelce called the defeat an embarrassing moment for them.

"Everybody in the building knows how embarrassing that was. We got a short week so we're going to forget about this s--- real quick. It's a f------ frustrating experience right now and every single day we're trying to fix it. I promise you guys," he went on.
