Meghan Trainor has risen to the top of the Digital Download charts once again, marking the third time that "All About That Bass" has held the top spot. The song experienced a drop in sales over the week but not enough to stop her from passing Taylor Swift and "Shake It Off." "Bass" sold 253,000 downloads while "Shake" sold 224,000. The pair of songs have switched places twice now but if sales keep dropping this may mark the end of "Shake"s run at the top. -

When the Country Music Association announced the nominees for the 48th annual CMA Awards, one name was not in the running for any categories, despite having a platinum album that produced four #1 singles. Jessie J Sets High Mark with 'Bang Bang' Thanks to Help from Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj
The Digital Downloads Top 10 happens to be both opened and closed by a debut track this week. Leading at no. 1 with the second largest single debut of 2014 is Jessie J and "Bang Bang," which features help from Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj. It sold 230,000 downloads, a total only surpassed by Grande's "Problem" for most debut downloads this year. That song, however, fell out of the Top 10 this week. Closing out this week at no. 10 was Maroon 5's "It Was Always You," which sold 95,000 downloads, not at all a bad start. -
Jason Aldean's Digital Sales Mark Irrelevant in Context with Garth Brooks' Coming Digital Deluge
Jason Aldean was named as the all-time bestselling country male country performer in terms of digital sales this week. That's quite an accomplishment in the age of Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney and more, but few have considered how irrelevant that will be by the end of 2014. One performer Aldean hasn't had to outsell was Garth Brooks, who currently stands with literally zero digital tracks sold under his name. That is, until GarthBrooks.com finally releases his digital catalogue by the end of 2014.
