• Four Tet Fills In for Benji B, Drops New Joy Orbison, Pearson Sound, Madlib Tracks [Listen]

    While preparing for a massive tour, Four Tet has been dropping remixes, collaborations and original tracks of his own at a pace that suggests the producer is way too busy to leave his studio for even a sandwich, let alone substitute host a three-hour-long radio broadcast. Yet when Benji B needed someone to cover his BBC Radio 1 show, Kieran Hebden didn't just fill in: he went in, dropping tons of new and otherwise unreleased tracks by Joy Orbison, Pearson Sound, Madlib, Champion, Lil Silva and Future Islands' Samuel T. Herring, among others.

    Kieran Hebden, AKA Four Tet, has revealed that he was an extra in the music video for Radiohead's seminal classic "Creep." The London-based electronic producer revealed the details of his 1993 cameo as part of the thrashing mass of moshers in the now-iconic video in a conversation with BBC 6 Music's Gilles Peterson during a special about Hebden's career entitled Worlds and Music With Four Tet. It's pretty much impossible to discern the artist's silhouette from the others in the video's crowd, but try to spot him in the video anyway, below.

    In one of the more surprising joint-shows announced so far this year, bass music don Skrillex and eclectic electronic producer Four Tet have teamed up for a new show next week in London. The show will take place at the 500-capacity Underground in Camden, London on April 5. Tickets will only be made available through a ballot system, which you can sign up for here.     Omar Souleyman has announced that his new album, Bahdeni Nami, will drop on July 28 and will feature assistance from more mainstream fans such as Four Tet, Modeselektor (and later remixes to come from the Black Lips' Cole Alexander), according to Pitchfork. Souleyman has been a mainstay in his homeland of Syria for years as a celebrated wedding party singer, and has gathered Western appreciation in recent years thanks to acclaimed releases such as 2013's Wenu Wenu.
