Omar Souleyman has announced that his new album, Bahdeni Nami, will drop on July 28 and will feature assistance from more mainstream fans such as Four Tet, Modeselektor (and later remixes to come from the Black Lips' Cole Alexander), according to Pitchfork. Souleyman has been a mainstay in his homeland of Syria for years as a celebrated wedding party singer, and has gathered Western appreciation in recent years thanks to acclaimed releases such as 2013's Wenu Wenu.

Bjork drafted Souleyman to do a number of remixes for her Biophilia album, and he performed at Bonnaroo during 2014. Sources indicate he has nearly 500 albums to his name, although more than 80 percent of them were live recordings of wedding performances.

"They say that we, Modeselektor, play at an awful lot of parties. Omar Souleyman has sung at a very, very large number of parties—wedding parties. We reckon that fits!" said the German electronic duo and organizers of the Monkeytown label. "The coolest man on the planet threw the wedding bouquet our way and we had no choice but to catch it. Welcome to the Monkeytown family!"
