Geraldo: Michael Slager Won't Be Convicted of Murdering Walter Scott
The case of former South Carolina police officer Michael Slager, who shot and killed Walter Scott last week after a traffic stop went horribly wrong, has gripped the country for days. While two videos have surfaced -- one from a police dash cam and the other now-infamous footage filmed by a bystander -- there is always room to debate the murder charge that has been filed against Slager. Who better to argue what might have seemed like an obvious outcome then Geraldo Rivera? Rivera believes that Slager will never be convicted of murdering Scott. -
Geraldo Rivera Says Hip-Hop Is 'Destructive Culturally'
Journalist Gerald Rivera recently sat down with HuffPost Live to talk about everything from Brian Williams to hip-hop. His take on the latter resulted in the reporter calling out Russell Simmons and moguls of his caliber for encouraging a culture that separates people from the mainstream and results in the inability to find gainful employment. He took a few other shots at the genre that are sure to receive a response by Simmons in the near future. He said the genre is "destructive culturally." -
Geraldo Rivera: NBC Has No Intention of Bringing Back Brian Williams
Leave it to Geraldo Rivera to make real sense out of the scandal swirling around Brian Williams. NBC suspended their top anchor for six months for embellishing at least one major news story. Unfortunately, Williams seemed to find it necessary to make himself a bit of a hero within his own reporting rather than just telling it like it was, and unfortunately that kind of flaw is fatal in the news business. Rivera believes the network basically offered up a "death penalty" to Williams's career without actually firing him, and therefore has no intention of bringing him back.
