In 2016, Drake and Rihanna released their collaborative song titled "Work" which became successful as it was able to hit the charts and sold countless copies to fans. Although this track was one of the rapper's most recognizable hits, he said he doesn't sing it anymore; what happened?

According to Complex, the Canadian hip-hop artist just started his new tour called "It's All a Blur Tour - Big as the What?" along with J. Cole. His first show was over the weekend in Tampa, Florida.

During one of the sets, Drake was inside a flying stage lift and the song "Work" played in the background.

That was the time when the rapper seemingly threw shade at his former collaborator, as he said, "I don't sing this song anymore. You can sing it for me."

Regardless, he still finished the entire track by singing his verse and the final chorus.

As of this writing, it's unclear whether "Work" will make it onto his official setlist within the next few months of his tour or not.

Not the First Time Drake Seemingly Shaded Rihanna

The recent news comes a few months after Drake released the song "Fear of Heights" from his album "For All the Dogs" in which he appeared to have shaded Rihanna through its lyrics.

On the song, the musician said: "Why they make it sound like I'm still hung up on you? That could never be me."

As of this writing, Rihanna has not responded to Drake's comments, seemingly about her.

Drake, Rihanna Relationship History

According to People Magazine, Drake and Rihanna started as friends, but their relationship became seemingly romantic back in 2009. At the time, the pair was seen kissing in New York City.

Through the years, the pair collaborated on a few songs like "What's My Name," "Take Care," and "Work."

Drake was also the one who presented the singer's MTV Video Vanguard Award, saying that he had been in love with her since he was 22 years old.

Later, Rihanna commented on their relationship in 2018, as she said in an interview: "We don't have a friendship now, but we're not enemies either."
