When Taylor Swift won Album of the Year at the 2024 Grammy Awards, she brought her collaborators Jack Anotnoff and Lana Del Rey onstage with her, but netizens think it was insensitive of her to bring the latter onstage especially after she lost under the same category.
Many felt offended on Del Rey's behalf, and aired out their grievances online: "Taylor Swift dragging Lana Del Rey to the stage after Lana lost the award for album of the year to her was so uncomfortable to watch sorry."
"She's that egoistic person with no common sense that thinks they are the most humble person in the world," another added, referring to the "Cruel Summer" singer.
Netizens accused Swift of lacking emotional intelligence by bringing Del Rey along with her. "Did she think she was trying to share the moment? I totally understand why her fans are drawn to her, she's the obtuse class nerd that has no clue and lacks emotional intelligence."
"I'm sorry but Taylor literally can't be serious. Lana just lost that category to you. Yes she was involved in the album but it's so untactful to not allow her to have time or space to process her own emotions."
Meanwhile, the singer's fans are defending Swift by stating that the "A&W" singer was a co-writer and collaborator on the "Midnights" album, and its success should be shared as well.
According to reports, Del Rey will not be receiving a Grammy for her contribution to the album, as she co-wrote "Snow on the Beach," due to a recent rule change by the Recording Academy.
Lana Del Rey Lost to Taylor Swift
The reason why fans were so disappointed in Swift was because Del Rey's album "Did You Know That There's a Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd" was up against Swift's "Midnights."
However, Swift did give her pal a special shout-out during her acceptance speech: "I think so many female artists would not be where they are and would not have the inspiration that they have if not for the work that she's done. I think she's a legacy artist-a legend in her prime right now."

Taylor Swift, Lana Del Rey's Friendship
It is unclear whether Del Rey was pleased or not by being brought onstage by Swift, however, it should also be noted that the singers are good friends.
According to reports, the pair showed up at the Grammys with their arms interlocked.
They even did the glambot picture together, and there are several videos of Swift fussing over Del Rey on the red carpet.
