Fans of the U.K. version of The Office were ecstatic to hear that Ricky Gervais would be bringing back the dim-witted ringleader David Brent in a movie next year, and the good news keeps coming with the character's recent comedic single.

Gervais will be reprising his role in a mockumentary called Life on the Road, which will chronicle Brent's second try at a music career, The A.V. Club reports. The recent single, "Slough," is a tribute to the town that was home to Wernham Hogg Paper Company on the show that obviously holds a sweet space in Brent's heart. "Oh Slough, my kind of town/Slough, I don't know how anyone could put you down," he sings (check it out below). It's a heartfelt love letter to the town in Berkshire, England, but it's far from being a hit, which is where the laughs are destined to be in the movie. On the British Office, a running joke was that Brent had one hit with his band Foregone Conclusion with "Free Love Freeway."

The last sign of David Brent was last year when Gervais starred in a short segment for Comic Relief as the character. Prior to that, Brent had a run-in with American counterpart Michael Scott (Steve Carrell) as he was wrapping up his run on the beloved U.S. version of the show.

Gervais talked about revisiting the character in August via a press release. "Imagine if that was a real documentary - The Office - and David Brent was the person he was," the comic said. "He'd still be trying to be famous. You wouldn't go back and find him in the office - you would go back and find him repping like he is now, still trying to be a pop star and trying to get Simon Cowell's eye and trying to have his own YouTube." channel."
