Olivia Rodrigo is once again at the center of conversation about a possible music collaboration with Sabrina Carpenter after sharing that she is open to working with other artists in a recent interview.
The topic came up during her cover story with Dazed, where she was directly asked if she could ever team up with Carpenter. Rodrigo did not confirm any plans, but she also did not close the idea, which quickly brought the old rumors back into focus online.
According to Billboard, when asked about the idea of working together, Olivia Rodrigo responded in a relaxed way and kept things open-ended. "Oh, gosh," she said. "I mean, I'm open ... I'm open to all types of collaboration."
That short answer became the main takeaway from the interview because she did not rule anything out, even as fans continue to speculate about her next musical moves.
Talk of Rodrigo and Sabrina Carpenter goes back several years. In 2021, Rodrigo released her breakout song "Drivers License," and listeners began guessing that the "blonde girl" mentioned in the lyrics referred to Carpenter.

Olivia Rodrigo Addresses Rumors
The situation grew into an online debate, and both artists became part of a bigger pop culture story. Later, Carpenter released music that fans also linked to the same situation, which kept attention on both singers.
In a later update shared through British Vogue, Rodrigo made it clear that things are now peaceful between them.
"I think she's great," she said. "I'm so happy for all of her success too. I love the album she's put out." She also pointed out that online rumors often make the story bigger than it really is and said she has spoken with Carpenter many times.
Rodrigo also mentioned artists she would like to work with in the future. She named PJ Harvey and Fiona Apple, saying she admires their raw and unfiltered style, EliteDaily reported.
She also reacted positively to the idea of working with Lorde, pointing out how much Lorde's earlier music influenced her songwriting. Rodrigo said she is open to collaboration but is focused on her own upcoming work.
Her upcoming album, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love, does not include any collaborations.
