It was not that long ago that Kate and Jon Gosselin were at the center of one of TLC's most popular reality shows. Cameras followed the two as they cared for their eight children, and they were raking in money hand over fist for several years. Then the bottom fell out as the Gosselins realized that the tabloids were right: They would be better off apart. Divorce may have given Jon his freedom and Kate full control over their children, but finances have been tough for both of them. Jon was recently evicted from his Pennsylvania home and Kate began advertising about the yard sale her family will have Oct. 25. Money is clearly a big issue here.

Jon was reportedly working at a restaurant and renting a home big enough to accommodate visits with all his kids. Sources say he stopped showing up for shifts and was ultimately fired. After bouncing several checks, Jon was evicted and, while he has already settled into a new home, it is not big enough for his kids to visit.

Meanwhile, Kate has been advertising her yard sale of items that are "clogging up" her house. She claims some of the proceeds will go toward a local animal rescue league and that her finances are just fine, but it does not necessarily look that way. This woman is left to financially care for all eight kids on her own, so it is hard to imagine there ever being enough money for everything no matter how successful Kate may be.

Do you think Kate is strapped for cash but too proud to admit it? How about the situation with Jon? He never seems to get it fully together or at least always has negative rumors surrounding him. Do you feel bad for the Gosselin kids, who are stuck being shuffled between these two parents? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below.
