Rumors of Bethenny Frankel's return to The Real Housewives of New York City began to pick up speed about two weeks ago, and this morning Bravo has confirmed her return to the fold for Season 7. When the show first premiered in 2008, Frankel was one of the first women to gain a serious fan base, and she stayed with RHONY for three seasons before walking away.

Frankel left the series and went on to do a few spin-off shows for Bravo that focused on her life with new husband Jason Hoppy and their baby daughter. Flash forward four years and Frankel is wrapping up what was an extremely messy divorce while juggling single motherhood and her various businesses.

Season 7 seems like the perfect time for Frankel to return, and longtime viewers will likely take note of a lot of growth in the reality star. She started off on the show all those years ago as a broke novice and in her time away has gotten married and divorced and became a mother all while building her own empire.

Frankel seems to think this is the perfect time to return to her television roots, saying in a statement today:

"I'm genuinely excited, with a side of slightly nervous, for my return to The Real Housewives of New York City. Bravo has always been the place on television where I have the freedom to be unfiltered, honest and inappropriate, with an audience who has been with me from the beginning. I can't wait to see what this next chapter brings for all of us. Watch what happens!"

RHONY took a lot of heat last season, with many critics thinking it was a snooze-fest, so it makes sense that Bravo would want to bring Frankel back to get some of the oldest fans who may have tuned out a reason to take another look.
