Last year, Disciple, Hawk Nelson, RED, Skillet and Switchfoot were all in the running for Rock Song of the Year. Switchfoot's "Dark Horses" beat out the competition. This year, RED and Skillet are back again (RED with two songs) along with Remedy Drive and newcomers We As Human.

For me, even though all of these songs are great, the clear choice is Skillet's "Sick Of It." Not only it is a great song, it also is an inspiration to get up and make changes if you don't like something about your life!

On Tuesday, October 15, we'll find out who won. In the meantime, the nominees are ...

"Perfect Life " - RED
From February's Release The Panic, "Perfect Life" was the second single to go to radio. This rock anthem will get you energized and on your feet.

From the song ...

Take your pride, take your vanity
Can't you see that your ego's empty?
I will turn, I will walk away
I won't become you, won't become you..
You want a perfect, PERFECT LIFE

"Resuscitate Me" - Remedy Drive
From Resuscitate, the band's September 2012 release, "Resuscitate Me" was another second single to go to radio. With a slight Jon Foreman sound, the song reminds us that God will resuscitate us any time our lives have flat-lined.

From the song ...

Woah, oh
I need you to save me
It's not too late to resuscitate me
Woah, oh
Don't let go
Your touch awakes me
It's not too late to resuscitate me

"Sick Of It" - Skillet
Before the album hit stores, Skillet released two singles - "Sick Of It" and "American Noise." Both were huge hits with fans and helped the album debut at no. 1 on the Billboard Top Rock Album Chart.

From the song ...

Are you over it?
Bored to death?
Have you had enough regret?
Take a stand, raise your hands...

"Strike Back" - We As Human
The lead single from the band's self-titled debut album is a hard-hitting rocker that will fire you up to strike back at the sin in your life.

From the song ...

You want to push me like I don't mind
You want to break me but not this time
You underestimate the moment you shove
You've got no idea what I'm capable of
No, no you don't

"Who We Are" - RED
A throwback to 2011 and Until We Have Faces, RED never released an official music video for "Who We Are" but that didn't stop fans and reviewers alike from falling in love. A challenge to be who we are in Christ instead of who we think the world wants us to be, this song stands on its own.

From the song ...

We won't hide our faces from the light
Eliminate the space between us
It's who we are
We are forever
It's who we are
