The grand jury ruling in Ferguson, Missouri this past week has inspired a lot of political discourse in the hip-hop community, and yesterday, Nov. 27, Atlanta rapper B.o.B. expressed his frustrations with a surprise eight-track mixtape titled New Black, which you can check out below. The tape is the 26-year-old rapper's second of 2014, following No Genre 2 from back in July.

The mixtape's title stems from some controversial tweets B.o.B. sent out in which he criticized Twitter activism. "I caught a lot of heat for some statements I made," the rapper tells Hot New Hip-Hop, "and people started calling me 'New Black.' So I was like I'm just gonna take that and make it my own."

According to Missinfo, B.o.B. is currently at work on his fourth studio album, which has yet to be given a title or release date but is expected to drop at some point in 2015. The album will be B.o.B.'s first since Underground Luxury, which was released back in Dec. 2013 and spawned six singles: "We Still In This B***h" featuring T.I. and Juicy J, "HeadBand" featuring 2 Chainz, "Ready" featuring Future, "All I Want," "John Doe" featuring Priscilla, and "Throwback" featuring Chris Brown.

When discussing his new album with Hot New Hip-Hop, B.o.B. admits it will be more musical. "My last two albums, I just wanted to be in the club," he says. "I wasn't trying to sell albums, I wasn't trying to do big pop records...With this fourth album, I'm back to making eclectic music, genre-less music. I've been picking up the guitar a lot more."
