The good news that Fleetwood Mac fans have been waiting for has finally arrived: Christine McVie is ready to make a comeback. McVie has been seen as the most obstinate to reforming the original Fleetwood Mac lineup, but she announced in an interview with The Guardian that she'd be willing, if she were invited.

"I like being with the band, the whole idea of playing music with them," she said. "I miss them all. If they were to ask me I would probably be very delighted...but it hasn't happened so we'll have to wait and see."

The group hasn't offered a full-time position for McVie perhaps, but she recently appeared with the group at the London O2, performing "Don't Stop," one of the tracks she had written during the band's heyday.

McVie, who wrote hits such as "You Make Loving Fun" and "Over My Head" along with playing the keyboard for Fleetwood Mac, stepped away from the band during 1998, saying that she had grown tired of the spotlight.

"I suffered from some kind of delusion that I wanted to be an English country girl, a Sloane Ranger or something," she said. "And it took me 15 years to realize that it's not really what I wanted at all."

McVie's statement that she'd be interested in reuniting with Fleetwood came at an optimal time, at least in terms of giving the group time to consider and give her time to prepare. John McVie, the bassist and former husband of Christine, is currently being treated for stomach cancer. Christine says that he's doing "really good," but the band is forgoing touring for a few months to allow him time to recover.
