Arctic Monkeys have done quite well in 2013, releasing the stellar and dark album AM, featuring twists, turns and deep croons unlike anything previously heard from the English alt-rockers. Yesterday (Dec. 5), the Brits kept on their AM music journey by releasing "You're So Dark," the B-side to new single "One For The Road."

The song finds Arctic Monkeys lead singer Alex Turner pining for a woman that he knows is actually no good for him, but he can't help but want her anyway. "Catty eyelashes / And your Dracula cape / Been flashing triple-A passes at the cemetery gates / 'Cause you're so dark / But I want you hard," he sings leading up to the haunting chorus, wherein a small chorus of backing vocals emphasize that this woman is "so dark."

Fitting for Turner's '50s hair coif, the track has a distinctly throwback feel, despite keeping with modern instrumentation, with seedy guitar work, simplistic and grooving basslines and steady, shaking drumbeats.

"You're So Dark" is just a B-side to the band's latest single but easily would have fit on its newest album AM. Unlike this year's earlier B-side, "2013," which felt incredibly dated, "You're So Dark" maintains the timelessness of good old fashioned rock 'n' roll.

"You're So Dark" is the companion track to "One For The Road," Arctic Monkeys' latest single. The track, which got a farm-friendly video earlier this fall, is the fourth single from Arctic Monkeys' latest studio album AM.
