Bravo fans are thrilled that Bethenny Frankel is returning to the show that made her relevant in just a few short weeks. She was smart enough to use The Real Housewives of New York City as a springboard towards other successful business goals, such as the launch of her Skinnygirl empire, a reality spin off show and a talk show that lasted for a season. She recently sat for a one-on-one interview with Andy Cohen that will air on Bravo on March 22 and in it Frankel admits to being embarrassed by television roots for awhile.

"There was a point when I was a little embarrassed to be a Housewife. I felt like it was a little something to not be proud of. There was a time when I was in it that it felt kind of not what I started out as, and that's why I walked away. Now coming back, I feel I'm proud to do it again and I feel like it is a different show. I feel like it is a different show and I feel like me coming back to this show this season has changed up the dynamic. It seems honest, it seems real, it seems a little bit old-school — that's how it feels," explained Frankel.

There have been many occasions when just choosing to watch RHONY has been something many wouldn't want to admit to doing and the ratings have reflected that. The network is really hoping that by bringing Frankel back into the mix some of the oldest fans that have quit watching will gravitate back to the show. As for Frankel herself, well, her life has changed radically since she was last followed by Bravo's cameras. She has survived a bitter divorce from Jason Hoppy and has had to learn how to juggle her busy work schedule with single motherhood.

All of the drama and turmoil over the last few years might make Frankel a lot more relatable now. Will you be tuning in when RHONY returns on April 7? Tell us your thoughts in the comments below!
