Have you guys noticed that just about everything in Rosie O'Donnell's life gets messy eventually? There is definitely a pattern that seems to repeat in both her personal and work lives and when she declared that she was divorcing Michelle Rounds it was only a matter of time before the mud-slinging started. While O'Donnell's publicist has tried to paint Rounds as money-hungry, this week she is presenting a very different picture of the marriage. Rounds has filed for sole custody of the 2-year-old adoptive daughter that she shares with O'Donnell, alleging that the comedian's drinking and pot-smoking keep her from being a good parent.

Rounds sat for an interview with Entertainment Tonight and immediately took on critics saying that she's looking for a pay day. Rounds insists that she made her first million before ever meeting O'Donnell and that she will walk away from their prenup completely if her ex will give up custody willingly. Since O'Donnell has come out swinging against Rounds, it seems pretty unlikely that she's going to hand the child over to her without a fight.

Rounds explains that the difference in parenting styles really contributed to the demise of their marriage and that O'Donnell's partying meant that their daughter was always stuck with a nanny.

"It makes me feel sad that it has come to this -- that Rosie and her publicist feel like they need to do this character assassination. I just want my child to have the best possible environment to grow up in, a normal life. Right now she's got 24/7 nannies over there at Rosie's house. I don't want my child to have a 24/7 nanny. I give her mild discipline instead of like -- carte blanche, do whatever you want -- which is more or less how Rosie likes to do things." says Rounds.

Do you believe that Rounds is telling the truth and should be awarded custody? If O'Donnell's life is always chaotic then it seems pretty likely that her child is left with a nanny for extended periods of time, doesn't it? One thing is for certain and that is that it looks like this fight will probably get worse before there is any resolution, don't you think? Who should be awarded custody?
