The lineups for KCON and KCON New York continue to expand as we approach the late July/early August events. Shinhwa has been added to the Los Angeles date while VIXX have been lumped into the New York lineup.

Shinhwa is the longest-running boy band in South Korea, a fact worth noting in a music industry that turns stars over so quickly (as if we Americans can talk). The group debuted during 1998 (imagine NSYNC still being around) and recently dropped a 12th studio album, We, earlier this year. This will be the group's first appearance at a KCON as it's been rather shy about coming to American shores over those two decades.

VIXX is a KCON regular, having performed at the initial Los Angeles event during 2012 and again during 2014. This, of course, will be its first stop at the New York rendition of events, as this is also the first time KCON will take place on the East Coast.

So far that brings the count of acts at the respective KCONs up to four for Los Angeles and two for New York...but of course L.A. will occur over a period of three days while the East Coast version will be a single day, at least for this year. The other acts announced for California have been AOA, Block B and Super Junior, while the iconic Girls' Generation will take to New York.

Perhaps more relevant to hardcore K-Pop fans (who plan on attending the respective festivals regardless of actual lineup), the promoters for the events have announced ticket release times. Those looking to go big with the full weekend ticket in L.A. will be able to get those on June 18, while those fishing for individual days can get those on June 21. All tickets for the New York event will go on sale on June 25.

The Los Angeles KCON will once again take place at the Staples Center, while the "New York" event will actually be taking place at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.
