Thom Yorke continued his experimentation with ways to release music last year with Tomorrow's Modern Boxes and now the Radiohead frontman has finally announced his first show is support of the album. The declaration actually came from longtime collaborator Nigel Godrich, and declared that Yorke would be appearing as part of the Summersonic Festival in Tokyo on August 15.

The tweet series opened with statement largely in Japanese, interjected with HOSTESS CLUB ALL-NIGHTER. "I guess that's japanese for - @thomyorke is playing a little gig in japan at the Hostess Club All-Nighter.. at Summer Sonic festival Japan," wrote Godrich. "In answer yes I will be there with some modern boxes and also @tarikbarri with visuals..."

The Hostess Club is one of several venues that will be hosting shows as part of the annual Summersonic Festival. The venue will host a huge lineup that night, considering it's only one of many venues at play in the festival. FSS (a supergroup formed from Franz Ferdinand and Sparks), Spiritualized, Matthew Herbert, Jon Hopkins and Bo Ningen will also be in tow on August 15.

That said, Yorke's performance is set up to be something special. Godrich mentioned Tarik Barri in his last tweet. We weren't familiar with his work but we checked out the website for the Dutch "audiovisual universe creator" and have to acknowledge that his projects are pretty swell.

Of course, this announcement begs the inevitable question: Is Yorke planning on more solo dates in support of Tomorrow's Modern Boxes? We can only hope, especially if they come with the whole audiovisual package.
