We previously reported on the rumors of a new trailer, which came from inside sources speaking with ScreenCrush. Now, an update from iO9 (via Slash Film) is stating that the new trailer will indeed premiere on Oct. 19 and a new poster will be shared a day before!
This news is coming from more "sources," but we're happy to believe it for now. There has to be a new trailer coming, right? We've only seen teasers so far, so an extended look is definitely needed.
Further news on the trailer states that we can expect it later in the evening on Monday night, while pre-sale tickets for the opening night of Star Wars: The Force Awakens become available shortly after.
Perhaps just as exciting as the new footage is the new poster. The Star Wars franchise is known for iconic posters, so we're definitely looking forward to what The Force Awakens' poster will look like, because it will certainly go down in history!
So no official statement from Disney and Lucasfilm yet, but perhaps this was meant to be a surprise.
