Ex-Mars Volta guitarist Omar Rodríguez-López recently teamed up with ex-Red Hot Chili Peppers guitarist John Frusciante in the band Kimono Kult. Now Rodríguez-López, along with The Mars Volta's Cedric Bixler-Zavala and Dave Elitch, are teaming up with another Chili Peppers member: Flea.

Not much is known about their new project, Antemasque; however, the band has posted a video trailer as well as a pair of rehearsal video for their song "4AM." As The Guardian points out, the first of the rehearsal videos focuses on Bixler-Zavala's vocals while the second video focus on Flea.

This one of a series of projects Flea has worked on outside of RHCP, the most recent of which was Atoms for Peace with Thom Yorke and Nigel Godrich.

The new project also marks a reunion of sorts for Bixler-Zavala and Rodríguez-López, who split up after Rodríguez-López formed Bosnian Rainbows. Although there had been some bad blood following the break-up, the two seem to have buried the hatchet.

The debut single "4AM" is now available on iTunes. Watch the trailer and rehearsal footage below, and let us know what you think in the comments section.
