X-Men: Apocalypse, the highly anticipated sequel to Bryan Singer's Days of Future Past, has a release date set for May 27, 2016, but we haven't seen a trailer for the movie yet - unless you attended the San Diego Comic-Con this year or watched the leaked footage from the panel. This week however, co-writer Simon Kinberg announced that the first trailer for the film will accompany the highly anticipated Dec. 18 theater premiere of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which will also feature the first footage of Captain America: Civil War.

Considering both Star Wars and Marvel are owned by Disney, it came as no surprise that Civil War nabbed the coveted coming attractions spot ahead of Episode VII, but it turns out that Fox also managed to get the prime real estate (via Gamma Squad).

"I can in fact confirm that information. Our first trailer will be on Star Wars: The Force Awakens. It's our first thing out there so it is somewhat of a teaser but it's certainly longer than a minute and it has a ton of cool stuff in it," Kinberg revealed this week, according to Collider.

Apocalypse takes place about a decade after the events of Days of Future Past, and introduces fans to rebooted characters and stars including Alexandra Shipp (Storm), Ben Hardy (Angel), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops) and Sophie Turner (Jean Grey). Plus, Star Wars' own Oscar Issac portrays this film's title character, an ancient mutant bent on the destruction of the world. James McAvoy , Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender and Nicholas Hoult return to the series as well.
