The December 18, 2015 release date of Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a couple of months away, but that doesn't mean we aren't already interested in watching the highly anticipated movie online in 2016! According to new reports, you'll be able to stream the Disney and Lucasfilm blockbuster from the comfort of your own home on Netflix - that is, if you live in Canada. That's right; the States' neighbors to the north have the exclusive Netflix streaming rights to the film, while the USA most likely has the option of watching the film on Starz. According to Gamma Squad and Variety, Netflix Canada jumped at the opportunity when Disney's Pay-TV contract became up for grabs. This was basically a first-come, first-served type of situation, and now Canadians can look forward to streaming The Force Awakens next year.

Disney and Starz have a contract that ends when 2015 does, but that means that Star Wars: The Force Awakens falls just short of finding another home after its in-theater release. This news might seem disappointing, but there could be chance that the States could also get Star Wars: The Force Awakens on Netflix, something soon.

If you're bummed out about this news, don't worry because you can watch all six Star Wars movies on Netflix, according to this leaked unfinished title page.

We know there are ways for those outside of Canada to watch The Force Awakens, but we suggest staying away from anything too evil these days.

While we wait for the theater release in 2015, the Netflix release in Canada and the premiere on Starz in 2016, check out the most recent Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie trailer right here:
