Lil Wayne's troubles with the law this year have been extensive and often debilitating. He is being sued by Pyrotek Special Effects for failure to pay for the fireworks he used during his 2013 tour. The New Orleans rapper was also sued by a jet rental company for failure to pay his bills. Further, after neglecting to pay his lawyers for their defense, Lil Wayne was later sued by his legal team. The lawsuits resulted in the seizure of almost $2 million in art from his $30 million collection. Only adding to his legal troubles, Wayne is suing his former mentor and boss, Birdman, for $51 million after accusing the Cash Money Records head of withholding compensation and hindering the release of his album Tha Carter V. However, it appears this week that Lil Wayne finally had something of a victory in court. Jimmy Carlton Winfrey pleaded guilty to shooting at two of Lil Wayne's tour buses and received 20 years in prison. After a controversial case, Jimmy Carlton Winfrey pleaded guilty to shooting at two of Lil Wayne's tour buses and received 20 years in prison.

According to AllHipHop, the 25 year old more commonly known as "Pewee Roscoe," shot at two of Lil Wayne's tour buses as they travelled across Interstate 295 in April. There were about a dozen people in the buses when they were shot at 3 am on April 26th. Fortunately, no one was injured in the attack.

Winfrey says he acted to gain "street cred" with Cash Money Records, Birdman, and Young Thug, however Birdman denied any involvement in the incident. An indictment from mid-July named both Young Thug and Birdman as co-conspirators in the plot to murder Lil Wayne. As AllHipHop reports, Winfrey can be seen touting the same weapon he used to shoot up the buses in a Young Thug video.
