In just a few short years, Martin Garrix went from being a bright-eyed teenager in the Spinnin' Records camp making records for other people, to now being one of the biggest DJs and producers on the planet, headlining massive EDM and crossover festivals such as Sziget, EDC and Ultra, while also working with Usher and Ed Sheeran. With this fame comes the inevitable legal issues that are a part of stardom and can be a drag on a career - just ask Lil Wayne or Jay Z. He has been battling with his former label, Spinnin' Records over control of his music and as of today, Garrix in a statement says the matter has been resolved.

In a statement sent out today, Garrix, writes "I have withdrawn the summary proceedings against Spinnin' Records [as of] of 3 December 2015."

The lawsuit stems from Garrix's desire to have ownership of his tracks and differences with the label and their management group, MusicAllStars.

"As a result of further negotiations, Spinnin Records has transferred ownership rights of my music back to me, which was the main goal of the summary proceedings," writes Garrix. "I will grant Spinnin Records an exclusive license (for a limited period) for the tracks that were released by Spinnin' Records until August 2015."

Though it would seem as though both parties would be finished with the matter, Garrix says "further legal proceedings" will "probably" occur as a result of "remaining differences of opinion." Though he assures fans who want things to end peacefully, that "parties will keep trying to resolve this matter amicably."

Looking ahead for Garrix, he recently announced that he was gearing up to launch his own record label. No details have been unveiled yet, but it will be a likely outlet for his growing pile of unreleased music.
