The tireless Curren$y has put out yet another mixtape, his second this year, teaming up with Los Angeles-based producer The Alchemist. Titled Carrollton Heist, the 10-track project acts as the follow-up to their 2011 collaborative tape Covert Coup and has features from Styles P, frequent Alchemist collaborator, Action Bronson and Lil Wayne.

Like a lot of great projects, the mixtape has a story woven throughout. It tells the story of a heist through older audio samples. The raps by Curren$y and three features also keep with the theme of a heist that could go wrong at any second.

The project has varied instrumentals from Alchemist who keeps the chilled out vibe that you expect from Curren$y records, but also makes it interesting so the whole tape doesn't get stale by the end. There are some jazzy instrumentals like "Vibrations," psychedelic influences on "Inspiration" featuring Action Bronson and more soulful samples on "The Mack Book."

This is the second project from Curren$y in 2016. He already released the car-themed tape The Owners Manual in the middle of January, which only had six tracks and no features.

This follows up a 2015 where he released several more projects including Pilot Talk 3 and Even More Saturday Night Car Tunes. Though it seems as though he can't keep up this pace of music, there should be more to come from Curren$y, as well as, Alchemist, soon.
