Before Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and even LinkedIn, MySpace was the end-all, be-all social media destination. After taking the top spot away from Friendster as the main online destination of preteens to late teenagers, MySpace was basically running the Internet, and 2004 and 2005 were the years that the service was enjoyed by all - including Taylor Swift (allegedly). BuzzFeed this week shared some comments that were reportedly written by the Grammy winner when she was a teenager, reminding us all that the MySpace versions of ourselves were very strange. Share the (rumored) nostalgia with us below!

If you were to show me comments or posts that I made on MySpace in the mid-2000s, I'd attempt to destroy the evidence you present to me. I was 17 years old on the Internet, on MySpace, which features photos and easy ways of contacting people. This was a strange time for everyone, mainly the older side of the Millennial generation.

In 2004 - 2005, Taylor Swift was 13 going on 14. If these comments were in fact made by the multi-talented singer-songwriter, we need to understand that she was too young to really know what she was saying.

So when BuzzFeed published an alleged Swift comment that reads (via UPROXX) ...

I am obsessed with you.

If you look out your window and down the street about 200 yards, you may see a big white van parked on the street. I am inside the van with a telescope and computer. Just trying to catch a glimpse of kelsey dammmm morris.

haha. end of story

...remember that she is one of the most celebrated songwriters of our time and that you probably wrote something as weird to one of your MySpace friends.

So, go easy on her! You can check out the BuzzFeed article right here.

See More myspace, Taylor Swift
