On Friday (March 18), 2 Chainz and Boosie Badazz were slated to perform at the Austin Music Hall, but fans were left disappointed after a SXSW showcase was shut down following a crowd rush.

According to HipHopDX, the Beer N Tacos showcase was canceled after a crowd rushed the employees at the door and someone reportedly brandished a gun. Aside from Chainz and Badazz, the showcase was set to feature performances by Tory Lanez, Young Dolph, Trae The Truth, Lil Durk and Travis Porter, as well as a tribute to Bankroll Fresh.

“Police said employees at the door called them around 11:15 p.m. saying they were getting overpowered by people, many of them without tickets, and that the situation had gotten out of control inside the venue, ” the Austin American-Statesman reported. “There was a report of someone holding a gun, but it has not been confirmed, police said.”

Since then, reports of how things actually went down have varied. According to the Beer N Tacos Twitter account, there was no incident inside the venue, but it was an outside incident that led to the door-rush and ultimate cancellation.

“There was NO fight or incident inside of Austin Hall as rumors have stated,” Beer N Tacos wrote on Twitter. “There was an incident OUTSIDE that led to the door being held. With that incident being handled without ANY serious issues, the venue proceed to open the doors to allow people in. The crowd rushed in and they shut the venue down...”

Police said 100 people overpowered employees at the door but no arrests were made. The same venue faced an evacuation last year due to a door rush situation.
