It's no secret that Snoop Dogg is a fan of professional wrestling, especially since his own cousin is WWE Diva, Sasha Banks, who he has cheered on for years. Also counting numerous appearances and some in-ring action involving the iconic rapper, Snoop and the WWE go hand-in-hand. With WrestleMania right around the corner and announcements of wrestlers named to the Hall of Fame in 2016, the WWE has officially announced that Snoop Dogg is the celebrity inductee this year!

The rapper joins other celebrity inductees including Arnold Schwarzenegger, Pete Rose, Drew Carey and Donald Trump. Since only one celebrity is inducted per year, Snoop's position in 2016 is highly coveted by a number of other celebrities that have been involved in the wrestling organization over the years.

WWE announcer Jim Ross broke the news on his podcast The Ross Report, and then doubled down and tweeted about it (via With Spandex):

In an official announcement over at the professional wrestling company's website, a breakdown of Snoop's involvement with the company is shared, with some great memories of the rapper in and out of the ring. You can read this article right here.

As you can imagine, Snoop is pretty excited about this news and has shared a post on his Twitter account to let all of his followers know. Check out his tweet about the WWE Hall of Fame right here!
